Good list, I will borrow this for a post for myself....
I used to work at a Half price Books and every year the Banned book month fell to me to think of a new theme. I still remember reading on the list that the reason Anne Franks Diary was banned in some ignorant southern school region was "...because it was a real downer..." Seriously these people should not breed.
That list always cracks me up. Goosebumps? The Color Purple? Roald Dahl's The Witches? Cujo? Har! People reed to lighten up. Makes me want to write a book called Baby-Eating Goat Worshippers of Sodomy Cove or something like that.
Wow Roald Dahl???? Toni Morrison and Alice Walker? J.D. Salinger? Get me out of this country! This just makes me think that Margaret Atwood rocks even more than I thought she did the first time I read her, back before any of you were alive lol. And, I wonder if any of us will have the guts to write something as good as that. You know why I ask, right? It's the ultimate form of recycling. They can ban whatever they want to, but we will just keep writing more and more and more.....
Look at the world wide banned books list. It is pretty bad. Black Beauty was banned in South Africa because of the word black in the title.
