You want to put a mosque where?

A lot has been made of the Mosque that is going to be built near ground zero.  I could care less really, but I think I will help others look at this rationally.

Did the people looking to put the mosque up purchase the land legally?

Would building the Mosque break any zoning laws that where in place when the property was purchased?

Are we in America where you can do what you want with your own property as long as it doesn't break zoning laws?

See, that was really easy.  I don't want people telling me what I can and can't do on my property (within leagal constraints), so I won't go around telling people what they can't do on theirs.  Lets not go around trampling peoples freedoms, because the next person's freedom to get trampled may be your own.  Not mine; I will fight for mine.

This guy from Fox is going to build a gay bar next to it and see how accepting the Muslims are. He says he really is going to do it and he is getting financial backing arranged. He wants to see if they will be as open and loving when they are confronted with something they don't understand.

can you build a bar that close to a church? that is probably the smartest protest I have heard about it. It is a protest in exercising freedom.

Your 3 questions are so easy, I have to wonder why no one is asking them. Well done.

I thought it was pretty fun but actually a good point to make. If you expect tolerance and understanding then you better well do the same.
