My Evil Genius

I will be modest and call myself merely a person with a higher IQ (this is to be read as I think entirely too much of myself). But I think my daughter is a genius. I must help her to harness the powers for good though. Right now, she is using them for evil. If she gets the genius gene from me, the evil gene has to be from her mother, right? Onto the story.

My wife is making out a list of things for me to pick up at the grocery store. She gives me the list and I take my oldest along for the ride. In the car, she says don't forget the doughnuts. I state that I am sure there are no doughnuts on the list. She counters that there are. I pull out the list and there is complete column going all the way down the paper and then in a second column, all by itself and in my wife's handwriting, I see doughnuts. Wow, it is on the list. So, I buy doughnuts. Later that night my wife scolds me for buying doughnuts, stating they were not on the list. I take out the paper and show her that they are.

Turns out that my sneaky 5 year old asked my wife how to spell doughnuts. After my wife spelled it, my daughter asked her to write it down. This is taking place while my wife is making the grocery list. To the side of where my wife is making the list she writes it down. I won't mention that she misspelled it donuts. So you see my dilemma. I have an evil genius as a daughter. Did I mention that she loves Lex Luther and routes for Jaws in the Jaws movies.

That is AWESOME! What a kid! You have to remember this story so you can toast her at her high school graduation.

Genius! I love it. Now, that is a girl who knows how to get what she wants. Ashli is going to be very successful.

That is brilliant.

Yes. You're wife does have the Evil gene. HAve you so easily forgotten the $500 drying rack? The Towel Fairy? You wife should've known better than to write something like that down on a grocery list.

It makes one ponder what other genes are in there. . .

Dang, she is smart. This past Christmas she wrote Merry Christmas to me on a napkin. But I think you have it backwards, after growing up with you I am pretty much positive she got the evil from you and the smarts from Jung. Although, it is possible that the genius is just my good influence.
