The Stuff

Something made me think of this movie today.  Maybe becuase it is Halloween.  I remember this movie being pretty scary when I was in about the 4th grade.  I haven't seen it recently so can not attest to how well it holds up over time.  The concept behind the movie is great.  A yogurt type substance that people are eating is taking over the world.

I remember this movie... I remember the scene with the waterbed in the hotel the most. That and the underground complex where the Stuff comes from.

I watched this when I was kid. When I came to the US, and a friend offered me marshmallow fluff to put on my ice cream, I declined. I've seen what the Stuff can do to a person.

I totally remember that movie, and it was totally GROSS! I loved it! It also reminds me of John Carpenter's The Thing with Kurt Russell, also a freaky movie.Long live non-computer generated gore.

The scene that always stuck with me was when the kid who wasn't infected realizes what's going on and replaces his Stuff with shaving cream, only to be forced to eat it in order to keep from arousing suspicion. Man, that must've been difficult to play off, considering the main attraction of The Stuff was its yummy flavor. Kid had to eat Barbasol and smile about it. Classic. What I never understood was why that first loser decided to taste some odd white goop coming out of the ground. Wouldn't have been my first reaction. Thanks for the memories -- the sticky, mind-controlling memories.

Budd. I hope you know I am plotting revenge. I didn't see this or I would have cross linked it. That is okay. Necropolis has been a good rerun. PTTHTHTHTHHTHTHT *schmack*
