I said something to my daughter yesterday that I learned in basic training over 10 years ago. It resonated loudly because I have never said this to anyone, only heard it being said to myself and others. I don't think I realized what it meant until I found reason to use it myself. What I said is:
"I can't means I won't, and I won't means I quit."
This obviously does not work in all I can't statement situations, but is relevant in most. It is funny the things that you carry with you.
