White People Can Have Naps Too!

nap2      [nap] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, verb, napped, nap·ping.

–noun
1. the short fuzzy ends of fibers on the surface of cloth, drawn up in napping.

Anyone can have nappy hair.  I don't think frizzy hair is specific to any one race.  To say that it was a racist term is silly.  Maybe up north it is but down here people can be nappy headed, carpets can have naps, long haired cats can have naps.

That being said, Imus did call the girls Hoes.  That is a little different, still not racist.  Hoes has entered the vernacular as slang for woman.  I am sure that this was done by some crafty young man who felt that all women were whores at the core and just decided to call them out on it.  This was followed shortly by calling all women the B word.

20 years ago the uproar would have been huge for calling any woman a ho, but today it is slang, not that I agree.  The one thing that irks me is that rap songs refer to women in much more derogitory terms and there is no international coverage.

What he said was insulting to those girls.  Calling a person nappy headed in the South is akin to calling them dirty people or extremely poor.  So a nappy headed ho would be the equivelent of calling them Dirty Whores.  He needs to apologize for that.
