Something is Bothering Me

Why are they remaking Invasion of the Body Snatchers and why is crappy Nicole Kidman in the lead.  I mean if you are going to remake a fantastic movie that is itself a remake you got to get great iconic actors.  The original remake had Donald Sutherland, Jeff Goldbloom, and Leonard Nimoy in it.  Daniel Craig might be the blonde bond but why mess with the movie.

This movie is a classic.  The original remake is a classic.  The original remake is plenty spooky enough without nice computer graphics prettying the movie up.  I have seen Hollywood's recent horror offerings (Saw, Hostel, The Fog, Halloween H20, etc.) and they aren't really scary at all.  Shocking at points, yes.  Pushing the envolope in gore, of course.  Scary, nope, sorry, try again.

Maybe we should limit the number of times that a movie can be remade to one.  After that you either call it something else and change the story up or you come up with your own idea.  Better special effects do not warrant a new movie.  there are better special effects now than there were 5 years ago.  No one is remaking the Matrix and they could probably get a lead that could act this time.

I thought the same thing -- Nicole Kidman is the kiss-of-death when it comes to movies -- I just have zero interest in seeing anything with her in it.
I love both versions of IotBS -- I don't know that it needed to be redone.

They could have gotten Kristen Bell, then at least every guy in the world would go see it.
